COVID-19 Update 01/04/2022

January 4, 2022

Dear fellow families,

As Covid-19 cases in the communities are on a rise we are taking the upmost precautions to protect our residents and staff from Covid-19. We are in close contact with NYS Department of Health and we are following guidance and recommendations from them as well as from the CDC.

As we have cases in our facility, we are testing residents and staff on a continuous basis, yesterday we tested all our residents (besides those that have tested positive in the past 90 days). We have 22 residents that have tested positive in the past 24 hours. These cases are on the 2nd and 4th floor. These new positive residents will be cohorted on the 2nd floor. Our positive residents are mostly asymptomatic and a few have mild symptoms. We also have 5 additional staff member that tested positive. We will continue testing our residents and staff until we don’t have any more cases. Unit 1 and 3 are not on a quarantine and unit 2 and 4 are on a quarantine for positive cases and exposure.

Please be aware that each family is notified individually of Covid-19 positive results and any other change in a resident’s condition. Our staff will be calling designated family members with current updates on those who are positive. We are doing our best to provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to all to your loved ones.

As you may still visit at this time, we ask that if you can, try to limit or stop visiting until things calm down. When visiting a unit that is on a quarantine you are required to wear PPE (which will be provided by the facility) when entering the room, please read the CDC instructions on how to properly don and doff the PPE located on the resident’s door. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms or tested positive for Covid-19 please do not visit.

Please note, we will continue to have virtual visits via our Recreation department and our whole compliment of staff is willing to help you out with any questions or concerns any of you might have. We encourage families to send care packages for their loved ones that include a photo of the sender to be used at a memory prompt. We ask families to send video messages that can be replayed. Send videos and photos via whatsapps or sms to 347-802-6042.
