Dear fellow families,
I would like to provide an update on our current Covid-19 cases and on the upcoming changes to limited visitation:
We have one staff member that tested positive yesterday, Monday – 2/22. This individual tested negative on Friday, 2/19 and did not work on the weekend and got tested on Monday and results were available before started work. Therefore, we did not place any residents on quarantine (isolation) but as a precaution all resident will now be tested 3-7 days for 14 days.
As many of you know, there are some updates on the visitation guidance from New York State (NYS) Department of Health (DOH) that will go into effect on 2/26/2021. Being that we unfortunately have a positive staff member, we won’t be eligible for limited visitation until at least till 3/9/2021. During this time Gold Crest staff is working on modifying our policy and procedures based on the updated visitation guidance from NYS DOH. We will notify all residents and families on any updates/changes to limited visitation prior to reopening for limited visitation (which is tentatively 3/9/2021).
We will continue to have virtual visits via our Recreation department and our whole compliment of staff are willing to help you out with any questions or concerns any of you might have. We encourage families to send care packages for their loved ones that include a photo of the sender to be used at a memory prompt. We ask families to send video messages that can be replayed. Send videos and photos via whatsapps or sms to 347-802-6042.
To schedule/coordinate or questions about resident communication; please reach out to the social worker.
