Dear fellow families,
As Covid-19 cases in the community are on a rise, we have tested all our residents between yesterday and today. 8 residents tested positive. Residents are cohorted by their Covid-19 status; positive, exposed negative and non-exposed negative. Additionally, we have one staff member that has tested positive yesterday. We are continuing to take the utmost precautions to protect our residents and staff from Covid-19. We are in close contact with NYS Department of Health and we are following guidance and recommendations from them as well as from the CDC.
Please be aware that each family is notified individually of Covid-19 positive results and any other change in a resident’s condition. Our positive residents have little to no symptoms and all residents are being monitored very closely and will be tested on a continuous basis until there are no more cases in the facility and/or on their unit for 14 days.
As you may still visit at this time, we ask that if you can, try to limit or stop visiting until things calm down. When visiting a room that is on a quarantine you are required to wear PPE (which will be provided by the facility) when entering the room, please read the CDC instructions on how to properly don and doff the PPE located on the resident’s door. All rooms on a quarantine will have signage on the door and an PPE bin in the front of the room. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms or tested positive for Covid-19 please do not visit.
Visitors are required to wear a well-fitting non-surgical paper mask or a mask of higher quality (i.e., surgical mask, KN95 or N95) at all times during any visitation at the facility. If the visitor wishes, a cloth mask may be placed over the paper mask. The masks must cover both the nose and the mouth. The facility will provide surgical masks for those that need. All visitors are required to physically distance from facility personnel and other patients/residents/visitors that are not directly associated with the specific resident(s) being visited by that individual.
All visitors are required to provide a negative SARS-CoV-2 test result taken one day prior to visitation for antigen tests and two days prior to visitation for NAAT (e.g. PCR) tests. All visitors may use either NAAT testing or antigen testing. For those that don’t have an acceptable negative result the facility will test you upon entry and you will need to wait for a negative result to conduct the visit.
Please note, we will continue to have virtual visits via our Recreation department and our whole compliment of staff is willing to help you out with any questions or concerns any of you might have. We encourage families to send care packages for their loved ones that include a photo of the sender to be used at a memory prompt. We ask families to send video messages that can be replayed. Send videos and photos via whatsapps or sms to 347-802-6042.
